Two of the projects that we worked on included a youth-led conference through a Dare to Dream grant and a candy-craft project to increase awareness of our group in the local community. The conference was a great success! We were able to secure speakers who discussed ideas related to culture, mental health, and self-care. We were also able to advertise to youth in the community and through their attendance, were able to promote the group to people who may not know about us!
Our candy-craft project centered around the idea of 'candy grams'. We decided to attach information about our group and the importance of reducing mental health stigma to candy that was then handed out at schools in our local area.
