Windsor Regional Children’s Centre

After months of brief telephone consultations with the Windsor Regional Children’s Centre (WRCC), The New Mentality made an in-person visit to provide a full-day training program for staff and youth volunteers on July 21st. This training was customized to meet their unique interest in developing a new Youth Engagement program. Their context was unique as the WRCC is a part of the Regional Hospital, adding an extra layer of bureaucracy. Despite the challenges, staff & youth from WRCC have created a new Advisory Committee for Youth. The Youth Advisory Committee's membership will consist of up to 12 youth between the ages of 13-24 who reside in Windsor and Essex County Area. The Youth Committee will review Windsor Regional Children's Centre (WRCC) current services for youth and make recommendations so as to create more Youth Friendly Programs & will present action plans to WRCC Leadership, staff and Board of Directors when appropriate.
